Pecha Kucha #6 was held as part of the Tampereen Arkkitehtuuriviikko (Tampere architecture week) at the Veturihalli 28th of September. Pecha Kucha is a form of presentation, where the presenter has to show 20 images in 20 seconds each. This results in intensive and cut-to-the-chase presentations. The presenters included this time designers, biologists, artists, etc… Toni Österlund held a presentation about his architectural interests and work with the title of “mä… ja mikä mua kiinnostaa… arkkitehtuurissa” [me… and my interests… in architecture].

MATFAB Exhibition

The new MATFAB design exhibition opened at Galleria Nottbeck, Media 54. The Exhibition shows the results of the Material Design & Digital Fabrication workshop held at the Tampere University of Technology. The exhibition also includes projects and material from international architectural offices and designers as well as from the international workshops of architectural schools.

Award for the AUL research team

Award for the AUL research team

University of Oulu has granted the Adaptive Urban Lighting research team (Herneoja, Pihlajaniemi, Österlund, Luusua, Tanska) an award for their excellent working team. The award is for the team’s effords in architectural reseach and education and for thecontributions made in algorithmic architecture. The award will be presented at the University opening 5th of September 2011. Aulikki Herneoja will accept the award on behalf of the whole team as the responsible team leader.
